About Us

What we do

The Working Women’s Centre Australia (WWCA) is a national body aimed at leading and facilitating advocacy, support, and coordination of services for working women. The organisation’s functions include:


System Advocacy: Leading advocacy and industry initiatives to prevent workplace sexual harassment, discrimination and other workplace issues.


Campaigning on issues that affect working women.


Representation: Addressing policy issues related to working women’s rights and entitlements.


Sector Support and Coordination: Supporting and facilitating collaboration among Working Women’s Centres (WWCs).


Research and Advocacy: Leading research, analysis, and contributing to policy debates on systemic issues affecting working women.

Our Objectives

To increase women's participation in and contribution to workplace arrangements that improve their income and conditions, including:


  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women
  • Women from non-English speaking culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Migrants, visa holders and international students
  • Women who have a disability
  • Women in regional, rural and remote areas
  • Women with family responsibilities
  • Women of mature age
  • Young women
  • Women experiencing domestic and family violence
  • Women experiencing mental health issues
  • Trans Women
  • Small business employers of the above groups
